FIRST!!!!!1!
What? That only works in the comment sections of other people's blogs? Oh, got it.
Welcome to Helmets Required. A hockey blog about nothing really. I basically just thought I was wittier than 140 characters worth of Hawks musings on twitter so I thought I'd upgrade. And with the quality of some of the hockey pages out there now, well. I can't do too much to hurt the overall state of things.
So here are my credentials. The daughter of a hockey player/long time referee. I, being the firstborn, was thrust onto the ice in my tiny molded skates at the age of 3. I clung to the boards and cried the whole time. My dad said it was good training.
Started in-house Mites at 5, and continued to play until I was 10. It became a little too dangerous to be the only girl on the ice, what with the safety of Squirt rules nearing an end, so I switched to soccer, but never stopped skating. I picked hockey back up in college, and played club and eventually varsity at my Division III school. Be impressed. It is impressive. Go with the feeling.
My stats are on USCHO.com, but let's just save everyone the embarrassment of seeing my 3 goals vs many many games played. Now that that is all in the open, let's get to some hockey.
